Amelia’s “The Lucky One” Review

I’m going to try to contain my giddiness, but if I scream or start fangirling, just excuse me. But can I just say that The Lucky One was absolutely perfect and flawless in every way? I honestly don’t think they left anything out. Everything that happened in the book (if you’ve read it) was in the movie. I still don’t think Zac Efron physically fit the role of Logan, but he exceeded my expectations. He did an amazing job and he’s a great actor. I will give him some credit. He really connected with the character and I can’t believe how well he portrayed Logan. Taylor (Beth) also did an amazing job. I know I called her old, but she was the perfect Beth. She wasn’t too old, it’s just that Zac was too young. I couldn’t imagine any other actress playing Beth. She was perfect and beyond exceeded my expectations. She’s so pretty! I was being a hard ass tonight, so I didn’t cry, but most of you probably will. It was sad at certain parts and I wanted to cry. The Lucky One is definitely a movie you’ll want to see again. If you haven’t read the book, please read it! I can’t stress enough how good of a book it is. If you’re not into love-y dove-y novels, that’s fine. But if you are to read any Nicholas Sparks book, read The Lucky One. Don’t be like everyone else and read The Notebook (which is too, a great book, but it’s a tad overrated). Coming from an obsessed fan who has ditched school twice to meet Nicholas Sparks, just take my advice and read The Lucky One. You won’t regret reading a single page. It’s without a doubt my absolute favorite Nicholas Sparks novel. And I’m not just saying that because the movie just came out and now the whole world knows about it. If you’ve been following my blog since I signed up in September of 2010, you’d know it has always been my favorite Nicholas Sparks book (Dear John being my 2nd).

It was also pretty funny! I laughed a lot, more than I expected, actually. Haha. It’s cute and funny and perfect. Definitely the best Nicholas Sparks book-based movie. The Last Song is probably the 2nd best! In my opinion, of course. If you see The Lucky One sometime this weekend please send me your thoughts and opinions! I won’t be posting spoilers for those who haven’t seen the movie yet. So no worries. Thanks for your interest! :)

A guy out there was meant to be the love of your life, your best friend, your soulmate. The one you can tell your dreams to. He’ll brush the hair out of your eyes. Send you flowers when you least expect it. He’ll stare at you during the movies, even though he paid eight dollars to see it. He’ll call to say “Goodnight” or just because he is missing you. He’ll look in your eyes and tell you you’re the most beautiful girl in the world. And for the first time in your life, you’ll believe it.
